Nina's 2006 West Coast Tour

Some people were kind enough to attend my Sunday night show at the Exploratorium.

One of them was Sanjay Patel, of GheeHappy/Little India fame. The design of Sita Sings the Blues is often compared to his work, which I take as a great compliment.

Then it was up to San Francisco on Highway 5. Here's Ian's car in Santa Nella, where we stopped at Pea Soup Anderson's, which was tragically closed. Everything in Santa Nella was closed. A water main had broken.

No pea soup, but the sky sure was purty.

There was nothing to do but go into a field and take pictures.

Nearing Oakland, the sun set the sky on fire.

We stayed with my pals John and Debbie and their menagerie including Gato, who had an operation on an abcess during our visit.

I hope Gato doesn't feel as gross as he looks. He's actually a very sweet and intelligent cat.

En route to Oregon, California's stunning Mount Shasta.

I got to visit my old friend David Chelsea and his wife Eve. When last we'd met, they were living in New York and I lived in San Francisco. Now they live in an idyllic house in Portland and have two charming kids (pictured). I gave them a set of Face-O-Matic cards which they immediately put to good use.

Finally I gave my presentation at Reed. They had an outstanding projection system and the students asked many thoughtful and pointed questions.

And now I'm back in New York! Home Sweet Home.
